- Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49048
- Unit: 46-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry (4N Med/Surg Tele)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/19/2026 – End: 4/20/2026)
- Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
- Floating: May float to similar units or affiliate hospitals in Michigan as needed
- Charting System: EPIC
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Michigan or compact state; licensure project participation welcome)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience preferred (first-time travel nurses accepted)
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (pending certifications accepted if obtained prior to start)
- Experience managing patient ratios of 1:5-7
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
- Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Nursing Job Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to trauma surgery, post-bariatric, post-abdominal, post-amputation, urological, and overflow cardiac/med-surg patients
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage central and peripheral lines, and administer blood products
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and more
- Float to similar medical units or affiliate hospitals in Michigan as required by patient census
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC
- Comply with hospital policies and demonstrate professional conduct at all times
