CVOR RN Job Details

• Location: Indianapolis, IN 46202 – Downtown Indianapolis, close to parks, museums, and arts venues
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing job
• Unit: CVOR RN CORE 5
• Start Date: February 9, 2026
• End Date: May 11, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shifts, 5x8-hour (06:30 - 15:00)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Call Requirement: 100 hours per 6 weeks, including 1 call weekend per 6 weeks
• Floating: Required to other operating room specialties
• Charting: Cerner EMR
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients

CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR RN experience (18 months may be considered)
• Proficient in scrubbing and circulating for cardiac and vascular procedures
• Experience with heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, and ECMO
• Level I Trauma experience preferred (first-time travelers accepted)
• Active Registered Nurse license (Indiana, compact, or IN temporary license required)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Ability to float to other OR specialties
• Willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment
• Two supervisor references required
• Travel nursing experience preferred

CVOR RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in the CVOR, including scrubbing and circulating for complex cardiac and vascular surgeries
• Assist with heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, ECMO, and advanced surgical cases
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
• Float to other operating room specialties as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain a safe, sterile environment in the operating room
