Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Worcester, Massachusetts 01655
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 2/4/2026 – End: 5/6/2026)
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (06:45 – 19:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Call Rotation: 1 night every third weekend; 12-hour call shifts
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
• Unit: 13 Operating Rooms equipped with advanced surgical technology

Operating Room Nurse Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse license (must be in hand prior to start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center required
• Scrub and circulate experience in specialties such as Transplant (Liver/Kidney), Endoscopy, Vascular, Neuro, Trauma (MVA, gunshot, stabbings), Cardiac, General Surgery, Pediatrics, and Micro
• BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
• Completion of pre-start and orientation modules as assigned
• Compliance with all Massachusetts nursing and facility credentialing requirements

Operating Room RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care to surgical patients across multiple specialties
• Circulate and scrub for complex cases including trauma, transplant, neuro, vascular, orthopedic, plastics, ENT, pediatrics, and general surgery
• Demonstrate proficiency with specialized operating room equipment (fracture/spine OR beds, microscopes, brain navigation systems, Argon beam, ligasures, ESUs, neptune suctions, etc.)
• Participate in call rotation and respond promptly to emergent surgical needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to facility protocols and safety standards
• Support and mentor less experienced nursing staff as needed
