Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Franklin, Indiana (46131)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Medical/Surgical Unit (34 beds)
• Nursing Shifts: 12-hour day shifts (6:00am – 6:30pm), 3 shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Self-scheduling: Available, variable based on census and staffing
• Weekend/Holiday: Rotating schedule (4 weekend shifts per 6 weeks; holiday rotation as needed)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Medical/Surgical, PCU, Telemetry, or CCU nursing jobs
• Current BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with common Med/Surg diagnoses including pneumonia, COPD, CHF, orthopedic and GI surgeries
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• Ability to float within Med/Surg scope as needed
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to diverse Medical/Surgical patients
• Manage patient assignments (typical ratio 1:5)
• Collaborate with charge nurses, supervisors, and patient care techs (PCTs)
• Administer medications and treatments, including set-rate drips (Heparin per protocol)
• Operate chronic BiPAP and CPAP equipment as needed
• Document patient care and assessments accurately in Cerner EMR
• Participate in orientation (1 shift clinical education + 2 shifts with preceptor)
• Follow hospital policies and dress code (Navy Blue scrubs)
