• Position: Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN)
• Contract Type: Travel nursing contract
• Setting: PCU Float Pool – Stepdown/PCU units
• Start Date: February 9, 2026
• End Date: May 11, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:3-4
• Float Requirement: May float to any stepdown/PCU area or other specialty campuses as needed

PCU Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit or Stepdown RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Ohio state or compact license
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a progressive care/stepdown setting
• Float between units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
• Perform IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and manage cardiac drips (no titration)
• Document and chart patient care using Epic EMR
• Administer blood products, manage central/PICC lines, arterial line management, and wound care
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, and rapid response
• Participate in procedural sedation administration/monitoring and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Maintain compliance with all credentialing and fingerprinting deadlines
