• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Hospital, Emergency Department
• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 3 shifts/week (36 hours/week)
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Scrub Color: Any color (no jean material)
• Parking: Free parking available

ER RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Active Massachusetts RN license (valid at time of submission)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Experience with Cerner or Epic charting systems preferred
• Ability to manage 1:4-5 patient ratios in a fast-paced ER setting
• Community hospital experience preferred
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical exemption for flu only)
• First-time travel nurses accepted with 2-3 years of ER experience and Cerner/Epic proficiency

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages in a busy Emergency Department
• Perform triage, patient assessment, and prioritize care in acute situations
• Administer blood products, IV vasopressors, and sedation as needed
• Manage central lines, CPAP/BiPAP, and continuous IV sedation
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Implement isolation precautions and uphold infection control standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner charting system
• Work scheduled every other weekend as required
