• Location: Elizabethtown, KY 42701
• Healthcare Setting: Community Hospital – Medical-Surgical Unit
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/12/2026 – End: 4/13/2026)
• Nursing Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), every third weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 28 beds, average daily census of 26

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience
• Active Kentucky RN license or compact state license
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry remote monitoring
• EPIC charting system experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Two professional nursing references

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to adult and geriatric patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage telemetry remote monitoring
• Assist with bedside procedures including chest tube insertions, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage IVs, central lines, and PICC lines
• Deliver wound care, tracheostomy care, and feeding tube management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams such as Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records
• Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Participate in orientation and annual training modules
