Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3 PM - 3 AM
- Schedule: Weekends and holidays as needed; floating as needed (may float to Emergency Transitional Care Unit - ETCU)
- Unit: Emergency Department (74 beds) at a Level 1 Trauma Center with a 3-bed trauma bay and behavioral health secure unit
- ETCU: 22-bed expansion of ED with telemetry and negative pressure rooms; provides inpatient-level care for holds and patients awaiting disposition
- Trauma Level: Level I Trauma experience required
- Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years (higher value confirmed)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not accepting first-time travelers (prior travel experience required)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
- Call Requirement: None
- Floating: As needed, including rotation to ETCU
- Blocked Schedule: Not approved
- Additional Info: May care for COVID patients; tobacco and fragrance-free facility
Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (AHA or ARC)
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- PALS (AHA or ARC)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - as applicable
- Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP) - as applicable
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam - as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (pass/fail exam required for all RNs except OR and Home Health)
- State License verification (primary source online)
- NURSYS Verification for RN license
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- Pennsylvania FBI Fingerprinting within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search within 1 year of start; must be finalized prior to start (cannot start with results pending)
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search within 5 years; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
- Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts
- Employment application and most recent resume required
- 2 professional references within 3 years
- Skills checklist annually
- Performance evaluations completed onsite during assignment
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted
- Rubeola (Measles): 2 vaccines or positive titer; 2 boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
- Mumps: 2 vaccines or positive titer; 2 boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
- Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; 2 boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; 2 boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
- Seasonal Flu vaccine required during flu season; no declinations accepted
- COVID-19 vaccine or medical/religious exemption/declination accepted
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only, not required by facility)
- Respiratory Safety Clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
