Minimum Qualifications & Certifications

• Minimum 1 year recent Operating Room RN experience required (2 years preferred) — OR RN, perioperative nursing, circulating nurse experience
• Active RN license in North Dakota or compact RN licensure (ND RN license accepted)
• BLS certification (required within orientation period)
• Travel nursing experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Level 2 trauma experience preferred — experience in trauma OR settings is a plus
• CNOR certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of asepsis, infection control, and AORN standards
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills

Key Responsibilities (Perioperative / Surgical Nurse)

• Serve as the circulating nurse in the Operating Room, ensuring patient safety and high-quality perioperative care during pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases
• Perform thorough patient assessments, prepare and implement individualized care plans, and document according to AORN Standards and Guidelines
• Collaborate with the surgical team, Director of Surgical Services, OR Unit Manager, and Nursing Supervisor to coordinate care and optimize OR flow
• Maintain strict asepsis and infection control practices for all surgical procedures
• Accurately complete all documentation in Cerner and support quality improvement initiatives in the OR
