- Unit: Resource Float (ICU/IMCU: SICU, MICU, Miller 3, Miller 4)
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Average Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel assignment / Travel Nurse (ICU RN)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2200 - $2320 (competitive pay for travel ICU RN)
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont or a compact state (required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in a large teaching facility (critical care nursing, medical ICU, surgical ICU, trauma)
- Prior travel nursing experience required (travel RN, travel ICU RN)
- Clinical experience caring for post-cardiac surgery, vascular, level 1 trauma, general surgery, and neurosurgery patients
- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (required)
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS — must be completed prior to start)
- CCRN certification preferred (critical care certification)
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation is not accessible in some areas)
- Vehicles must have all-season or snow tires November–April (Vermont winter driving safety)
- All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
- Complete work history required for submission (including bed count, EMR, facility type)
Responsibilities
- Float between ICU and IMCU units as needed, providing high-quality critical care to adults with cardiovascular, COPD, DKA, stroke, sepsis, and other complex conditions
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care in a fast-paced, collaborative teaching hospital environment
- Document, coordinate, and communicate patient care using EPIC EMR
- Participate in bi-weekly orientations and ongoing professional development opportunities
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and critical care protocols
- Work a flexible schedule across Monday–Sunday (no block scheduling)
