• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Central Virginia; local candidates accepted)
• Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry / IMU / IMCU
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse Contract (W2)
• Unit: LAC Resource Team (Intermediate Care/IMU/IMCU)
• Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 16 weeks)
• Start Dates: 02/09/2026 or 02/23/2026 (Orientation every other Monday)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour days
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Float Requirement: No

Required Qualifications – Cardiac Stepdown RN / Telemetry RN

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience; prior travel nurse experience required
• Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license (must be active at start)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Charge nurse experience preferred (training provided; pay differential available)
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Ability to work 2 of 3 winter holidays
• Submission documents: work history (explain gaps >90 days), skills checklist, copy of Nursys/license
• Approved COVID/Flu declinations accepted

Responsibilities – Cardiac Stepdown / IMU RN

• Provide high-quality nursing care to intermediate-acuity patients including cardiac, telemetry, neuro, med-surg, and CVA cases
• Perform charge nurse duties as required; mentor unit staff and support students/new hires in a teaching hospital
• Monitor telemetry, manage cardiac patients, titrate drips per protocol, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR and follow hospital policies and protocols
• Participate in orientation, competency validation, and ongoing clinical training
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
