- Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Central Virginia; local candidates accepted)
- Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry / IMU / IMCU
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse Contract (W2)
- Unit: LAC Resource Team (Intermediate Care/IMU/IMCU)
- Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 16 weeks)
- Start Dates: 02/09/2026 or 02/23/2026 (Orientation every other Monday)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour days
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Float Requirement: No
Required Qualifications – Cardiac Stepdown RN / Telemetry RN
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience; prior travel nurse experience required
- Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license (must be active at start)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
- Charge nurse experience preferred (training provided; pay differential available)
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Ability to work 2 of 3 winter holidays
- Submission documents: work history (explain gaps >90 days), skills checklist, copy of Nursys/license
- Approved COVID/Flu declinations accepted
Responsibilities – Cardiac Stepdown / IMU RN
- Provide high-quality nursing care to intermediate-acuity patients including cardiac, telemetry, neuro, med-surg, and CVA cases
- Perform charge nurse duties as required; mentor unit staff and support students/new hires in a teaching hospital
- Monitor telemetry, manage cardiac patients, titrate drips per protocol, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
- Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR and follow hospital policies and protocols
- Participate in orientation, competency validation, and ongoing clinical training
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
