Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio (ZIP 43210) – Central Ohio healthcare hub
• Setting: Mixed Acuity Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical Oncology Unit (Bone Marrow Transplant)
• Contract Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Duration: 13-16 weeks
• Start Date: February 23, 2026
• End Date: June 15, 2026
• Shifts: Day (7:00am - 7:30pm) or Night (7:00pm - 7:30am), 3x12-hour rotating shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 36 beds, average daily census of 33

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state nursing license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical and Oncology RN experience (Hematology-Oncology experience strongly preferred)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Ability to float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed
• Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership, one from a charge RN)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Strong skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, feeding tube management, and rapid response
• Preferred: ACLS, Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification, Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, and myelodysplastic syndromes
• Support patients undergoing autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants, as well as CAR-T therapy
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, recognize and communicate abnormal lab values
• Administer blood products and manage central, PICC, and peripheral lines and ports
• Implement infection prevention protocols and fall prevention strategies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Document care and patient progress using Epic EMR
• Float to other oncology units as needed to support patient care
