Travel RN Job Details
- Location: Columbus, Ohio (ZIP 43210) – Central Ohio healthcare hub
- Setting: Mixed Acuity Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical Oncology Unit (Bone Marrow Transplant)
- Contract Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Duration: 13-16 weeks
- Start Date: February 23, 2026
- End Date: June 15, 2026
- Shifts: Day (7:00am - 7:30pm) or Night (7:00pm - 7:30am), 3x12-hour rotating shifts per week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
- Unit Size: 36 beds, average daily census of 33
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state nursing license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical and Oncology RN experience (Hematology-Oncology experience strongly preferred)
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency with Epic charting system
- Ability to float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed
- Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership, one from a charge RN)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Strong skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, feeding tube management, and rapid response
- Preferred: ACLS, Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification, Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
Oncology RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, and myelodysplastic syndromes
- Support patients undergoing autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants, as well as CAR-T therapy
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, recognize and communicate abnormal lab values
- Administer blood products and manage central, PICC, and peripheral lines and ports
- Implement infection prevention protocols and fall prevention strategies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
- Document care and patient progress using Epic EMR
- Float to other oncology units as needed to support patient care
