PCU RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio (Zip: 43210) – Ohio nursing jobs
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: February 23, 2026
• End Date: May 25, 2026
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30), rotating weeknights, weekends, and holidays
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Neuro Surgery Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 8 BSH Neuro Surgery
• Patient Ratios: 1:3-4
• Setting: Adult and geriatric patient population
• Float Requirement: Float to various units within the healthcare organization as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or Med-Surg nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• EPIC charting experience required
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to neuro-surgical and stepdown patients
• Monitor and manage patients with neurological conditions (epilepsy, stroke, Guillain-Barre, MS, myasthenia gravis, traumatic brain injury)
• Perform specialized procedures such as lumbar drains and EVD monitoring
• Administer medications, manage IVs, cardiac drips, and blood products
• Document patient care using EPIC electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response)
• Float to other units within the hospital as required
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures
