Neuro RN Job Details – Peoria, Illinois

Location: Peoria, IL 61637 (Illinois nursing jobs)
Unit: Neuro Medical Surgical Acute Unit (54 beds)
Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract
Start Date: February 2, 2026
End Date: May 4, 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:00am), 3 shifts/week
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday
Charting System: EPIC EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois RN license (or proof of application in process)
BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of recent neuro nursing experience
Level 1 trauma experience required
Prior travel nursing experience (no first-time travelers)
Proficient in heparin titration based on PTT

Neuro RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care to individuals with neurological conditions such as stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, and head injury
Titrate IV drips (including heparin) and monitor patient responses in a clinical setting
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge nurses and 24/7 house supervisors
Float within the neuro med-surg unit and to other units as needed, based on competency
Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
Adhere to hospital dress code (no specific scrub color; tattoos covered; only ear piercings permitted)
Complete a comprehensive orientation (2 days with educator and preceptor)
