Travel RN Job Details – Kalamazoo, MI

• Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49007 (Michigan healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 2/23/2026 – End: 5/25/2026)
• Clinical Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Oncology – General Medical Unit (GMU)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Floating: May float to other med/surg units, including AU and ER
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4-6
• Support: Charge RN, interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and support staff
• Scheduling: Block scheduling may be available; self-scheduling for non-weekend shifts

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (required for Michigan nursing jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/Stepdown RN experience (2 years preferred)
• BLS (AHA) certification
• NIHSS certification
• ONCC or ONS certification (must be in hand)
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions accepted)
• Must be available for the first two weeks of assignment
• Professional references required

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, oncology, and general medical diagnoses (e.g., sepsis, renal failure, respiratory failure, heart failure, DKA, diabetes)
• Administer IV chemotherapy and initiate IVs
• Monitor and document patient status using Epic EHR system
• Operate clinical equipment such as Welch Allyn vital sign towers, Sigma IV pumps, and BiPAP/CPAP
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other medical-surgical units as needed
• Participate in orientation and annual competency modules
