Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) assignment in Lynchburg, Virginia (24501) in a fast-paced Operating Room. You’ll work consistent 10-hour day shifts and support safe, efficient perioperative care. • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Employment Type: Travel RN (on-site)
• Shift: 10-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 40
• Schedule: 4 x 10-hour shifts (assignments end on Saturdays)
• Call Requirements: 1–2 nights of call per week; 3 weekend call shifts (24-hour Sat/Sun) within a 10-week period
• Float Requirement: No
• Local Candidates: Local candidates are not accepted for this travel assignment.

Job Requirements

• Experience: Must have 2 years of recent Operating Room RN (OR RN) experience in the relevant specialty
• Case Experience: Strong orthopedic OR background required (ortho cases)
• License: Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license (must be active at time of submission)
• Certification: BLS (AHA)
• EHR/EMR: Cerner experience preferred
• Travel Nursing: Prior travel assignment experience is required for all positions with this facility/system
• Time Off: All requested time off should be submitted up front with your application

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care for surgical patients across the intraoperative continuum
• Perform circulating and/or scrubbing duties as assigned, maintaining sterile technique and supporting efficient room turnover
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the perioperative services team to anticipate needs and promote optimal patient outcomes
• Complete accurate perioperative documentation, including patient status updates, implants, supplies, and equipment needs
• Participate in on-call coverage per schedule and respond within 30 minutes
• Follow facility policies, patient safety standards, and evidence-based practices to support quality, compliance, and infection prevention
