Job Details

• Position: Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) / Travel RN
• Location: On-site in Marianna, FL 32446 (Jackson County) — near Panama City and Gulf Coast beaches
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (March 1, 2026 – May 31, 2026)
• Setting: Acute care – Med/Surg/Telemetry with float to PCU/step-down as needed
• Shift: 3x12s | Days - Flexible scheduling, No Blocked scheduling requests, Weekends as needed
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1350 – $1420 (based on experience)
• Unit Size & Ratios: 25–28 beds, typical patient ratio 1:6 (rarely up to 1:7)
• EMR: CPSI - Evident Thrive (user-friendly)
• Orientation: Pre-orientation packet + 1 day on-site + 1 shift floor-specific orientation

Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN acute care experience (15–18 months total RN experience preferred for travel RN eligibility)
• Travel Nursing Experience: Some previous travel experience is required
• License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Florida or Compact Nurse License accepted
• Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Clinical Skills: Strong Med/Surg fundamentals; comfortable with telemetry monitoring (no strip interpretation required); able to safely float to PCU/step-down within competencies
• Availability: Weekend shifts as needed and float as required

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based care to adult Med/Surg patients in a community hospital acute care setting
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop/update individualized care plans, and document accurately in the EMR (CPSI Evident Thrive)
• Administer medications and therapies, including IVs, per hospital policy and scope of practice
• Monitor patient status and telemetry, recognize changes in condition, and escalate to providers appropriately
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers; deliver patient and family education and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (PCTs, respiratory therapy, case management, physicians)
• Float to PCU/step-down as required, accepting assignments within demonstrated competencies
• Participate in hospital/unit orientation, follow policies, and maintain professionalism and patient-centered care
