- Job Title: Travel Radiology Technologist / Rad Tech (Diagnostic Radiology)
- Location: Mechanicsville, VA (On-Site)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract (13 weeks)

- End Date: 05/30/2026
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Shift: 8-hour evenings (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $2,030–$2,190
- Call: No call required
- Average Volume: ~50–60 cases per 8-hour shift
- Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric (including cardiac-focused populations)
- Travel Eligibility (Facility Policy): NO LOCAL CANDIDATES (no candidates within 50-mile radius)
Radiology Technologist Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of radiography experience (2 years preferred)
- Required Skills: Diagnostic radiography (general X-ray) and OR/Fluoro experience (fluoroscopy assistance)
- Certification: ARRT (R) certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- License: Active Virginia Radiologic Technologist license
- Required: BLS (AHA)
- Preferred: Prior travel assignment experience (travel Rad Tech)
- Preferred Systems: PACS, RIS (Radiology Information System)
- Preferred: Epic experience
- Note: EKG exam is not required
Key Responsibilities (Diagnostic X-Ray & Fluoroscopy)
- Perform general diagnostic radiography (X-ray) exams with a focus on image quality, patient safety, and efficient throughput
- Assist providers with fluoroscopy and specialized radiographic procedures, using appropriate aseptic technique when needed
- Collect and document relevant patient history; verify orders, required labs (as applicable), and exam readiness
- Position and immobilize patients to best demonstrate anatomy while maintaining comfort, dignity, and safety
- Operate digital imaging equipment and accessories; evaluate images for technical quality prior to submission
- Document accurately in PACS/RIS, including required clinical documentation and workflow steps
- Apply radiation safety principles (ALARA) and document dose exposure per policy
- Verify informed consent and complete pre- and post-procedure documentation as required
- Monitor patients during exams and respond appropriately to changes in condition or urgent needs
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care
