Travel CVICU RN job in Quincy, Illinois caring for high-acuity cardiovascular ICU patients in an acute care setting with Level II Trauma capability. This role includes 24/7 in-house intensivist/hospitalist coverage (MD/NP) and respiratory therapy assigned 24/7 to ICU/PCU.

• Shift: 12-hour days (one night position is currently available)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements

• RN Experience: CVICU/open-heart (cardiothoracic ICU) experience preferred
• License: Active Illinois RN license (required at submission)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Preferred Critical Care Skills: Sheath removal/pulling sheaths; CRRT experience highly preferred
• Additional Skills: Comfortable interpreting telemetry strips (monitor tech available); Draeger monitoring familiarity is a plus

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver expert critical care nursing to high-acuity cardiovascular patients, including post-PCI, post-CABG/post-bypass, and CHF populations
• Titrate and manage vasoactive infusions and other ICU drips per protocol and provider orders
• Perform focused assessments, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid intervention for changes in patient condition
• Work with the interdisciplinary ICU team, including 24/7 in-house intensivist/hospitalist coverage (MD/NP) and respiratory therapy assigned 24/7 to ICU/PCU
• Interpret telemetry strips and communicate clinically significant findings to the care team
• Document patient care accurately and on time in Allscripts EMR
• Provide patient and family education and participate in interdisciplinary care planning
