Travel Dialysis RN Job Details

• Shift Duration: 12-hour days
• Schedule: Day shift (typically 07:00–19:30)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Dialysis RN Requirements (Travel Nursing)

• Experience: Minimum 18 months of recent Dialysis RN experience (hemodialysis)
• Prior Background: 18 months of permanent dialysis experience prior to travel assignments
• License: Active Ohio RN license in hand or active Compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross)
• References: Recent manager/ANM/supervisor/director reference(s) in Dialysis required (no coworker references; must be from the past 12 months)
• Assessments: ECG rhythm recognition test and medication safety assessment completed during orientation (must pass within allowed attempts)

Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) Responsibilities

• Provide intermittent hemodialysis (IHD) treatments in the dialysis unit for stable patients
• Deliver bedside hemodialysis for ICU/critical care patients who cannot travel to the dialysis unit
• Connect and disconnect patients for peritoneal dialysis treatments as assigned
• Operate and troubleshoot hemodialysis equipment (primarily Fresenius; unit-based orientation provided)
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor treatment tolerance, and respond to complications
• Collaborate with nephrology providers and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, timely dialysis care
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to infection prevention and patient safety standards
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide coverage every other weekend per unit needs
