Job Requirements (Med Surg RN)

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) experience (renal/renal failure experience preferred)
• License: Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (must be active prior to start)
• Certifications: BLS
• Skills: Starting and maintaining IVs; Med/Surg fundamentals; renal failure care; appropriate use of rapid response/code teams
• Traveler Eligibility: First-time travel nurses welcome
• Local Requirement: Must live outside a 60-mile radius (local candidates not accepted)
• Time Off: Any requested time off must be submitted up front for consideration

Responsibilities (Travel Registered Nurse – Med Surg)

• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients with renal-focused needs
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop/update care plans, and evaluate patient response to treatment
• Administer medications and ordered therapies; initiate and maintain IV access; monitor for complications and changes in condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners (IV team, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, PT, radiology, phlebotomy, social services, and rapid response teams) to support timely, coordinated patient care
• Recognize clinical deterioration and escalate appropriately using rapid response/code resources
• Float to comparable Med/Surg units as needed to support staffing and patient care priorities
• Document accurately and efficiently in Epic to ensure continuity of care
