ICU Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Jeffersonville, IN 47130 (Southern Indiana healthcare jobs; near Louisville, KY)
• Unit/Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care
• Start Date: 03/22/2026
• End Date: 06/20/2026
• Contract Duration: 90 days
• Schedule: Night shift, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Shift Length: 12-hour nights
• Shift Pattern: 3x12 Hr
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Note: No 48-hour schedules on this unit
• Employment Type: Travel

ICU RN Qualifications & Requirements

• RN Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care/inpatient Registered Nurse experience
• License: Active Indiana RN license required at time of submission
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA) required; NIHSS required
• EMR: Epic experience required
• Core Skills: Strong assessment, independent clinical decision-making, care planning, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration

ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive ICU patient assessments and reassessments per policy and patient condition; make sound independent clinical decisions in a critical care environment
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Monitor patient response to interventions and document accurately and timely in the medical record (Epic)
• Provide patient and family education throughout the stay and support discharge readiness and care transitions
• Delegate appropriately to licensed and unlicensed team members while maintaining accountability for patient outcomes
• Support unit quality, safety, service, and regulatory initiatives; participate in shared governance/practice governance activities
• Serve as a mentor/preceptor as needed and promote teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement
