Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery / OBGYN (Night Shift) | Fort Wayne, IN 46805
Travel RN Labor & Delivery job in Fort Wayne, Indiana (46805) for an experienced L&D nurse seeking a 13-week night shift contract. Fort Wayne offers a welcoming Midwest community with convenient dining, shopping, and parks—an easy place to settle in between shifts.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel RN
- Pay Rate: Competitive hourly pay (details provided during the hiring process)
- Location: Fort Wayne, IN 46805
- Start Date: March 9, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (through June 8, 2026)
- Shift: Nights, 7pm–7am
- Shift Duration: 12 Hour Nights
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Charting & Equipment: EPIC documentation, Pyxis medication management, Hospira IV pumps, GE Corometrics fetal monitoring
- Orientation: Week 1: Mon–Fri; Week 2: Mon–Tue (8-hour days). Mandatory attendance for all 7 days.
- Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs
Labor & Delivery RN Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery (L&D) RN experience, including cervical exams and fetal monitor interpretation
- License: Active Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- Clinical Skills: Experience caring for laboring, pre-term, and postpartum patients; ability to interpret fetal monitoring strips
Key Responsibilities (OBGYN / L&D Nursing)
- Provide nursing care for laboring, pre-term, and postpartum OB patients and their newborns in a Labor & Delivery setting
- Support vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Perform and document cervical exams and interpret fetal monitoring strips to identify changes in maternal/fetal status
- Initiate and assist with neonatal resuscitation as needed
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC
- May float to a nearby facility approximately 18 miles away as needed; no floating to other units/departments.
