Hiring an experienced Med-Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (MST RN) for a Float Pool role supporting ED Holds with floating to Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (Med Surg/Tele, MST) units and ED Holds as needed. This is an on-site, local contract nursing job in Trenton, New Jersey (08638).

Job Details (MST RN / Float Pool – ED Holds)

• Location: Trenton, NJ 08638 (on-site)
• Unit/Setting: Float Pool RN – ED Holds; float between assigned local facilities/campuses to any MST unit or ED Holds as needed
• Schedule: 36 hours/week
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Shift: 12-hour night shift
• Start Date: 03/24/2026
• Contract Length: 8 weeks
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• EMR: Cerner

• Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $2,020–$2,130

Job Requirements (Registered Nurse / MST Float Pool – ED Holds)

• Experience: 2+ years of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry (MST) Registered Nurse experience (ED Holds/ED support experience preferred)
• License: Active New Jersey RN license or Compact RN license (must be valid at time of submission)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Floating: Must be willing to float between assigned local facilities/campuses to any MST unit or ED Holds based on operational need
• Vaccination: Flu vaccine required (no declinations accepted)

Responsibilities (MST Float Pool RN – ED Holds Support)

• Deliver safe, high-quality bedside nursing care for ED Holds and Med-Surg/Tele patient populations, adapting quickly to changing assignments.
• Perform focused assessments, continuous monitoring, and timely interventions for patients with varying acuity.
• Administer medications and treatments per provider orders and facility policy; monitor for therapeutic response and adverse effects.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate day-to-day patient care and timely clinical communication.
• Document accurately and efficiently in Cerner EMR, maintaining compliance with clinical, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain readiness to float between assigned local facilities/campuses and across MST units/ED Holds while upholding consistent standards of care and patient experience.
• Meet scheduling expectations, including every other weekend/holiday coverage and make-up of missed shifts within the same week per facility policy.
