Job Details (Travel Nursing Contract)
- Location: Parkersburg, WV 26101 (Mid-Ohio Valley)
- Unit/Setting: Acute Care – Med/Surg / Infectious Disease (18 beds; all private rooms)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel contract)
- Start Date: 02/20/2026
- End Date: 05/22/2026
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (1900–0730) with a 30-minute lunch
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Weekends: Every other weekend (nights typically Fri/Sat/Sun)
- Charting System/EMR: Epic
- Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $1,950–$2,060
Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements
- Experience: Recent Med/Surg RN experience required
- Travel Experience: Travel nursing experience required
- EMR: Epic charting experience required
- License: Active RN license (state requirements apply)
- Certification: BLS (AHA) required
- Compliance: Unexpired copy of driver’s license must be included with submission
- Clinical Skills: Infectious disease nursing, isolation precautions, and safe PPE practices
- Preferred Keywords/Experience: Acute care nursing, IV therapy, antibiotic administration, infection prevention
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities (Night Shift)
- Provide nursing care for Med/Surg patients with infectious disease and isolation needs (e.g., COVID, MRSA, C. diff)
- Complete focused assessments, implement care plans, and monitor patient status throughout the night shift
- Administer IV medications and antibiotics; manage common Med/Surg therapies (no cardiac drips required)
- Collaborate with the charge nurse, CNAs, and respiratory therapy; patients may require CPAP/BiPAP/high-flow per RT
- Document accurately and on time in Epic (EMR)
- Float to other Med/Surg units as needed; if floated to Tele, accept assignments within scope and skill set
- Support infection prevention standards and patient/staff safety in a high-isolation environment
Additional Notes
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: Typically 1:5–6 (1:4 for COVID)
- Support: Charge nurse coverage 24/7; typically 2 CNAs per shift
- Telemetry: Remote tele monitoring available; RNs do not interpret strips
- Orientation: 1 day Epic orientation + 1 day unit orientation with preceptor
- Scrubs: Royal blue (scrub jackets only; no hoodies/sweat-jackets)
