Travel RN opportunity in Boston, MA for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) on a Stepdown / IMCU unit. Care for complex post-operative patients transitioning from PACU/SICU while using strong telemetry skills and confident clinical judgment. • Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: 36hr D/N Rotation (12-hour shifts)
• Unit: Stepdown/IMCU, 38 beds
• Typical Ratios: 1:3–1:4 (may be 1:4–1:5 for lower-acuity/Med-Surg overflow)

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years of recent acute care RN experience
• Required: Recent surgical stepdown experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Required: IMCU/Stepdown experience (intermediate care)
• Telemetry: Must independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
• Travel: More than 1 previous travel assignment required
• Licensure/Certifications: RN and ACLS
• Skills: Comfortable with automated medication dispensing systems
• Assessments: Telemetry test and critical-care medication test on Day 1
• Preferred: Experience in a tertiary care facility

Cardiac Stepdown / IMCU RN Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate-level nursing care for post-operative patients transitioning from PACU/SICU to the IMCU/stepdown setting
• Manage complex surgical populations including cardiothoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant patients
• Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry; identify rhythm changes, intervene per protocol, and escalate appropriately
• Administer medications safely (including cardiac and critical-care medications) and follow unit policies and procedures
• Perform focused assessments, respond to changes in condition, and coordinate rapid interventions when needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe progression of care, patient education, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and uphold patient safety, quality, and compliance standards
