Travel PCU RN job in Indianapolis, Indiana (46237) for an experienced Registered Nurse in a Surgical Progressive Care Unit (SPCU/Stepdown). Care for complex post-op patients (cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery) on day shifts (07:00–19:30) with weekend/holiday rotation while strengthening telemetry and high-acuity stepdown skills using EPIC.

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,820–$1,910/week
- Start Date: 03/23/2026

- Contract Length: 12 weeks (travel RN contract)
- Schedule: Days, 07:00–19:30
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours per Week: 36 (typically 3x12s)
- Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend

- Float Requirements: May float to other Stepdown/PCU units as needed

PCU RN (Stepdown) Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown RN experience
- License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state requirements apply)
- Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS
- EMR: EPIC experience preferred
- Clinical Skills: Strong assessment, telemetry interpretation, and post-operative care for higher-acuity patients
Key Responsibilities (Surgical PCU / Progressive Care)
- Deliver safe, high-quality patient care to progressive care/stepdown patients, including post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery populations
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, identify clinical changes, and escalate care appropriately
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and coordinate care plans with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to support continuity of care and timely communication
- Educate patients and families on post-op recovery, medications, and discharge planning
- Float to other PCU/Stepdown areas as assigned to support unit operations
