• Location: Utica, New York (13502) – New York nursing jobs
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2040-$2140/week
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 18, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:30am – 7:00pm)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) – 64 beds, 15 designated Neuro beds

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent IMCU or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience, including documented travel nurse experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York; all RN licenses verified via NURSYS
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with EPIC EMR (electronic medical records)
• Skills checklist matching cardiac stepdown specialty
• Valid driver's license with address matching demographics
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Adult patient care experience (18+ years)

Cardiac Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, respiratory (COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, post-op) diagnoses
• Operate specialty clinical equipment: temp pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, Bipap, Neptune Vapo, and chronic ventilators (with respiratory therapy support)
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
• Float to other units as required to support patient care needs
• Follow unit protocols and uphold patient safety standards
