Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 - $1,890 per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: April 6, 2026

• Setting: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center
• Unit: 6 NORTH – Medical Surgical with Oncology focus (medical-surgical telemetry)
• Shift: Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00); 48 or 36 hour/week options available
• Patient Ratio: 1:6/7
• Weekend and On-Call: As needed
• Travel Requirement: Travelers must live at least 100 miles from the facility

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Tennessee or compact RN license (NLC) — must comply with NLC guidelines
• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele) experience; 3+ years preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required (at least one completed assignment)
• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center and large hospital preferred
• Med Surg Oncology experience required; oncology/chemotherapy experience a plus
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Competency with central lines (PICC, midlines, PAC), wound care, drains, ostomies, Foleys, PCA pumps
• Ability to administer chemotherapy (ONS-certified nurses only)
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Willingness to work 2 of 3 major holidays if assignment spans Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• All requested time off must be included at submission

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a medical-surgical telemetry and surgical oncology unit
• Monitor and manage patients on telemetry, including interpreting cardiac rhythms and responding to changes in condition
• Manage central lines, perform wound care, and care for drains, ostomies, and Foleys
• Administer IV medications, IV starts, PCA management, and conscious sedation as needed
• Administer chemotherapy when ONS-certified and following facility policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Work, Pharmacy, and more
• Accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress in the electronic health record
• Float to like units and nearby campuses within 20 miles as required
• Participate in rapid response, patient safety initiatives, and unit-based quality improvement
