- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts) — ICU night shift RN
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Electronic Medical Record: Cerner EMR (documentation experience preferred)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,020 - $2,130 per week
- Orientation Schedule: Orientation is available on select dates prior to assignment start and consists of 16 hours; please inquire for upcoming orientation sessions to ensure timely onboarding.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU / Intensive Care / Critical Care / CCU experience (Critical Care RN, ICU RN)
- Active Iowa RN license required at time of submission
- BLS (AHA or ARC) certification required
- ACLS (AHA or ARC) certification required
- PALS (AHA or ARC) certification required
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification required
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required
- Valid driver’s license required
- ICU/Critical Care skills checklist required
- Professional reference from a supervisor or nurse manager within the last 24 months preferred
- First-time travel nurses welcome — ideal travel nursing job for new travelers
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting (ICU RN responsibilities)
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Monitor, assess, and document patient status, hemodynamics, ventilator settings, and responses to treatments
- Administer medications, titrate drips, manage lines/tubes, and perform nursing interventions as ordered
- Deliver patient- and family-centered education and psychosocial support
- Float within the same clinical discipline across local campuses as needed
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Cerner EMR and participate in unit orientation and ongoing professional development
