Job Opportunity: RN - Tele (Travel)
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Days, 7 AM - 7 PM
Employment Type: Travel, Full Time
Temp to Perm: Possible
Job Summary
As a competent Registered Nurse, you will practice independently in a clinical setting, providing both routine and complex care. You will manage long-range goals and contingencies in nursing care, make appropriate assignments, and delegate tasks to other care providers to effectively manage clinical situations.
Patient Population
- Rehab patients (9th floor)
- Surgical and respiratory patients (11th floor)
- Mixed patient census across floors
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitor side effects and effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred
- Experience with trach/vent and high flow oxygen recommended but not required
- Rehab experience recommended but not required
Additional Information
- Work schedule: 7 AM to 7 PM
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
This role is ideal for an RN with at least 1 year of specialty experience seeking a travel assignment in a diverse clinical environment with opportunities for temp-to-perm transition.
