- Unit: Intermediate Telemetry (4S) — cardiac telemetry / step-down
- Assignment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse
- Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
- Shift: 12 Hour Nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Unit Details: 17-bed unit (10 currently open), primarily cardiac patients, stepdown/ICU transfers, respiratory, renal, stroke/TIA, and post-op cases
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680-$1770
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state required (Ohio RN license preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; telemetry, step-down, or ICU experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation—ability to pass a Dysrhythmia Exam (study guide provided)
- Experience with IV infusions and drips common to telemetry (heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, insulin, heart failure drips)
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Continuously monitor and accurately interpret cardiac telemetry and respond to arrhythmias and changes in patient condition
- Administer medications safely, manage drips, and titrate per protocols
- Provide care for patients with central lines, chest tubes, wound vacs, and multiple drains
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapists, and case management
- Serve as a patient advocate and educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatments, and discharge plans
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the EMR and ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance
- Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions and emergency situations
