Job Details — Travel RN / ER RN

• Location: Fairfield, IA 52556 (Fairfield, Southeast Iowa)
• Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Travel Nurse / Travel RN
• Assignment Type: Travel assignment (Travel Nurse)
• Start Date: March 16, 2026
• End Date: June 15, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks (13-week travel contract)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Shifts: Monday & Tuesday 6p–6a (ER), plus one 12-hour night shift on Med/Surg weekly
• Shift Type: 12-hour nights

Required Qualifications — Emergency Nursing / Travel RN

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN)
• Current Iowa RN license (compact license accepted if valid for Iowa)
• Valid certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• At least 1 year of nursing experience preferred (ER, emergency nursing, or med/surg experience preferred)
• Ability to provide proof of immunizations and health requirements (MMR, Varicella, Polio, Hepatitis B, TDaP, Flu, TB screening, physical, drug screen, respiratory fit test)
• Background checks and employment references required
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates (Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse) or willingness to complete prior to start

Key Responsibilities — Emergency Room RN / Travel Nurse Duties

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care: triage, assessment, intervention, and reassessment using the nursing process
• Deliver high-quality patient care in the Emergency Room (ER) and Med/Surg units as a Travel RN
• Manage acute and critical patient conditions, including trauma stabilization and urgent interventions
• Administer medications, wound care, IV therapy, and other delegated procedures per facility policy
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (physicians, techs, respiratory, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Support and guide ancillary personnel and new staff during shifts
• Maintain professional nursing standards, safety protocols, and infection control practices
