Job Details

• Location: Harvey, IL 60426 – Near Chicago (Illinois travel nursing job)
• Role: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Critical Care Nurse – Travel Nurse
• Setting: Adult & Geriatric ICU (Critical Care)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (March 9, 2026 – June 8, 2026)
• Shift: Night shift – 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: Typically 1:2 (ICU nurse to patient ratio)
• EMR / Charting: Epic (experience preferred)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required as needed to support other units
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1670–$1760 per week (based on experience and qualifications)

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in hand at time of application (no pending licenses)
• Minimum 1 year recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred (neuro-critical care experience a plus)
• Experience with ventilator management and advanced ICU monitoring
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record preferred
• Ability to float to other units and adapt to changing assignments
• Ability to work every other weekend; up to 7 days requested time off allowed during contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care nursing for adult and geriatric ICU patients
• Monitor and manage complex neurological and cardiac conditions, including dysrhythmia interpretation
• Manage advanced devices and invasive lines (IABP, PA catheters, arterial lines, central lines)
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips and manage hemodynamic support
• Care for mechanically ventilated patients and manage ventilator settings
• Respond to rapid response and Code 33 events as an integrated team member
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, PT, Social Services) to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Epic
• Float to other units when needed to support staffing and patient care needs
