- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1710–$1800/week
Qualifications (Required)
- Active Registered Nurse license (Maryland or compact state). Compact nursing license accepted.
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience (Telemetry RN, Med-Surg RN)
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- BLS & NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (?80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical record (EMR) system required
- Strong clinical skills in cardiac telemetry, ECG/EKG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, post-MI care, IV/line management, and wound care
- Ability to float to other units within your skillset and acuity level
- Seasonal/annual flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Responsibilities (Clinical Duties)
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry Float unit
- Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage dysrhythmias and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
- Administer medications safely, manage IVs, central lines, ports, and enteral feeding devices
- Perform wound care, manage surgical drains, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care as indicated
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, RRT/RT, PT, pharmacy, case management, and social services)
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Cerner (EMR charting)
- Adhere to infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
- Participate in facility orientation, complete required modules, and meet performance expectations for travel RN assignments
