Job Details

• Location: Salina, KS 67401 (Saline County) — Salina healthcare jobs / Kansas nursing jobs
• Setting: Med/Surg Telemetry – Surgical Unit (40 beds)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: March 23, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Unit Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• EMR: Meditech (experience required)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910-$2010/week

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (acute care/telemetry required)
• Experience caring for pediatric and adult patient populations
• Active Kansas RN license or Compact RN license (required at submission)
• Current BLS and TNCC certifications (required)
• Meditech EMR experience required — familiarity with telemetry documentation and medication administration
• Must live at least 100 miles from facility (mileage rule applies)
• Professional references required
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Prior employees of Salina Regional are not eligible

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to surgical and telemetry patients, including ortho, neuro, trauma, general surgery, urology, and pediatrics
• Float as needed to 4 Med unit: nephrology, oncology, general medical, and dialysis
• Respond with rapid response and code teams; manage endocrine/metabolic, GI, GU/renal, IV therapy, wound care, respiratory issues, and isolation precautions
• Administer medications (Heparin, Insulin, PCA) and manage surgical drains, chest tubes, and advanced respiratory support (CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC)
• Deliver pre- and post-operative nursing care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, and social services
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech EMR to meet compliance and quality standards
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment for patients and families
