• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and as needed for holidays
• Floating: Required as part of the Resource Float team to similar units
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2250-$2370/week

Job Requirements

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be on file at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in telemetry, cardiac stepdown, or progressive care (PCU)
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (required prior to start)
• EPIC documentation experience within the past 2 years (required for this Telemetry Nurse role)
• Ability to float to similar units as needed (Resource Float team experience a plus)
• Reliable personal or rental transportation (public transportation not accessible)
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
• Professional appearance: navy blue or white scrubs, closed-toe nonskid shoes, minimal jewelry, no artificial nails, and groomed hair (no beards)

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with acute cardiac and progressive care needs as a Cardiac Stepdown RN / Telemetry Nurse
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, post-cardiac catheterization, and patients requiring advanced monitoring or drips (insulin, cardiac drips, etc.)
• Initiate and manage IVs, perform and interpret EKGs, and provide post-procedure care for cardiac patients
• Manage telemetry monitoring, alarms, and documentation in EPIC; ensure accurate medication administration using MAK
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory therapy and anesthesia support available 24/7
• Participate in the Resource Float team and adapt to unit needs while maintaining high standards of patient safety and infection control
• Complete 1-2 days of orientation and engage in ongoing professional development as needed
• Adhere to all facility protocols, safety standards, and evidence-based cardiac nursing practices
