Travel Registered Nurse (PCU) – Nights in Columbus, Ohio. Seeking a PCU Registered Nurse with 2+ years recent PCU experience, current RN license (compact or Ohio), ACLS/BLS, and EPIC EHR experience for a 16-week travel nursing assignment in a mixed-acuity surgical oncology unit (PCU/Med-Surg).

- Duration: 16 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1940 - $2040 per week
- Orientation: 1 week dayshift classroom, 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
- Self-scheduling: Enter your preferred schedule requests (flexible)
- Staffing Ratios: Goal 1:4, may be 1:5
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics (surgical oncology and med-surg)
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience (within the last 3 years) as a PCU Registered Nurse or Progressive Care Unit RN
- At least 1 year of current specialty experience (surgical oncology or acute care med-surg preferred)
- Active RN license (compact license accepted; Ohio state license required at submission)
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record (EPIC EHR) charting system
- Two professional references (one from a manager, director, or formal leader)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after booking
- Ability to float to other acute care oncology units as needed
- Preferred: ONS Chemo certification (oncology nursing certification preferred)
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical oncology patients, including breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and reconstructive plastic surgery diagnoses
- Administer chemotherapy (per facility policy), blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and manage oncologic emergencies such as cytokine release syndrome
- Manage insulin and heparin drips, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and post-op surgical nursing tasks
- Interpret and manage cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmias, and other progressive care monitoring
- Utilize specialized equipment including GE telemetry, bladder scanners, Alaris infusion pumps, and Stryker beds
- Maintain strict infection prevention practices and adhere to patient fall protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Participate in self-scheduling and adapt to variable weekend and holiday coverage based on unit needs
- Float to other acute care oncology units as required to support patient care
