Job Requirements – Emergency Department RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent ER, ED observation/holding, med-surg or telemetry experience (Emergency Nursing experience preferred)
• Active RN license: compact accepted; Ohio state RN license required at submission (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Graduated from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Experience with Epic EMR/charting preferred (Epic charting system experience)
• Experience in community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II settings preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)

Responsibilities – Emergency Department Registered Nurse

• Provide high-quality triage, assessment, and nursing care for ED observation patients across lifespan (pediatric to geriatric)
• Monitor and manage telemetry and dysrhythmias; maintain PCU/Stepdown level care
• Administer IV insulin and heparin protocols, manage cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Perform blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP, oxygen)
• Utilize rapid response teams, perform wound care and wound VAC procedures as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR and follow hospital documentation standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social work, radiology, and physicians
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards
