Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year recent clinical experience in a stepdown, IMC, PCU, telemetry, or similar progressive care setting
- Travel nursing experience required (previous Travel RN assignments preferred)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, SAMA
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR)
- Skills in telemetry monitoring, IV/medication administration, phlebotomy, and basic wound care
- Comfort with non-invasive airway support (BiPAP/CPAP), tracheostomy care, PICC and peripheral line management
- Must not reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients, including CHF, COPD, and complex medical conditions
- Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and respond to arrhythmias and clinical changes
- Manage medications, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and documentation of all interventions in Epic
- Provide care for patients with tracheostomies, PICC lines, and peripheral IVs; support non-invasive ventilation when indicated
- Implement isolation precautions and adhere to PPE protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services to coordinate patient care
- Participate in orientation, complete required onsite modules, and maintain regulatory and facility competencies
