• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00-19:30, Night: 19:00-07:30)
• Weekend Coverage: Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period
• Patient Ratio: 1:1–2

Compensation

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,940 - $2,040 per week (based on experience and assignment specifics)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac ICU / CVICU experience strongly preferred (Cardiac ICU RN or Critical Care RN)
• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience required (Epic experience for documentation and charting)
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred (travel nurse background helpful for quick onboarding)
• Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
• Must provide two professional references (one from a supervisor/manager/director)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients in the CVICU and Cardiac ICU
• Manage complex cardiac cases including post-cardiac surgery, heart/lung transplant, VAD, ECMO, and other advanced cardiac therapies
• Perform and manage advanced skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz catheter care, conscious sedation, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), PA lines, and more
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and respond to emergencies and codes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, social services, and perfusion
• Float to other critical care units as required and support unit staffing as a travel nurse
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR and follow hospital documentation standards
• Participate in rotating holidays and weekend coverage as scheduled
• Adhere to infection prevention, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
