• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state requirements apply)
• Minimum 5 years Med/Surg Telemetry experience OR 3 years Telemetry experience (Telemetry RN experience required)
• Prior travel nursing experience required (at least 2 completed travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities OR previous experience at a UVMHN acute care facility)
• EPIC documentation experience within the past 2 years (required)
• BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications (NIHSS must be completed prior to start)
• Telemetry certification preferred
• Peripheral IV placement skills preferred
• Ability to interpret and respond to telemetry strips (Telemetry RN competency)
• Reliable transportation required (public transit not accessible)
• Ability to work every other weekend and scheduled holidays

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients across a range of diagnoses (post-op ortho, urology, GI, COPD, CHF, diabetes, end-of-life care, dementia, and more)
• Apply, interpret, and respond to telemetry monitoring; act as a Telemetry RN in a Med/Surg setting
• Perform bedside procedures such as NG tube insertion and peripheral IV placement
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, LNAs, and ancillary staff for seamless patient care
• Document patient care accurately and timely using Epic EMR
• Float to similar units as needed and support staffing needs across the facility
• Participate in a supportive, team-oriented environment focused on excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to facility dress code (scrubs provided or bring your own)
