• Setting: Acute Care – Labor & Delivery Unit (L&D)
• Contract Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Start Date: March 23, 2026
• End Date: June 22, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour Nights (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Call Requirement: One shift per 4-week schedule
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,250 - $2,370 per week

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license (state-specific license or compact RN preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience (3+ years preferred)
• Strong proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring and responding to fetal distress (AWHONN standards)
• Experience assisting with C-sections and managing high-risk obstetric patients
• Comfortable caring for patients with pre-eclampsia and independently managing OB emergencies
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Willingness to float to other units (ED or MedSurg) if experienced

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care to mothers and newborns in a 7-bed L&D unit with 2 triage and 10 postpartum beds
• Monitor and assess fetal well-being, interpret fetal heart tracings, and initiate appropriate interventions for fetal distress
• Assist with and circulate during C-sections and other obstetric procedures; support perioperative and recovery needs
• Manage high-risk OB patients and stabilize emergencies until provider arrival (no in-house OB/Neonatologist)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including respiratory therapists, OB scrub techs, and patient care technicians to deliver safe, patient-centered care
• Document patient care accurately using the Allscripts electronic charting system
• Float to other hospital units as needed, primarily MedSurg; support unit flexibility for travel nursing assignments
• Participate in orientation, ongoing training, and competency validation as required
