Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Ortho/Neuro
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Ortho/Neuro
- Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Weekend Schedule: Every third weekend, same shift hours
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Yes
Unit Information
- Unit: 6 West Ortho/Neuro
- Number of Beds: 34
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 4.5 patients
- Patient Types: Stroke, seizures, MS exacerbation, hip fractures, post-surgical back surgeries, hip/knee replacements, craniectomy, overflow medical-surgical patients
- Equipment Used: Pyxis, Alaris pumps, Novoglucometers
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Acute care nursing experience
- NIHSS certification
- BLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Work Environment & Culture
- Personality Fit: Team player, positive attitude
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs; nose rings and hoodies are not acceptable attire
Additional Information
- Reporting Location: Park in yellow line parking on the East side of the building, enter through main entrance, take elevators to 6th floor, turn left off elevator, first hall on left
- Education Modules: May be required prior to first day
This position is ideal for an experienced RN with acute care skills in ortho/neuro who enjoys a team-oriented environment and is comfortable working a 12.5-hour day shift with weekend rotation.
