• Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210 – Ohio State University area
• Unit: Perianesthesia (PACU) - 4 Rhodes / Doan
• Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 Hour Nights (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirements: 1-2 weekends per 4-week schedule
• Patient Ratios: 2:1
• Unit Size: 20 beds, daily census 30–50

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent PACU or critical care RN experience (Perianesthesia RN preferred)
• Active RN license – compact or Ohio state license required at submission
• Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CCRN preferred)
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred (trauma PACU experience a plus)
• Proficiency with electronic charting systems and documentation
• Two professional references (one from a manager, director, or formal leader)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care and monitoring for adult and geriatric patients (post-op, post-anesthesia)
• Assess and manage airway, ventilation, and pain; care for ventilated patients and manage conscious sedation
• Recognize and manage dysrhythmias, administer blood products, and manage central lines and IV vasopressors
• Utilize pain assessment tools and manage PCA pumps and multimodal analgesia
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including anesthesia, IV therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Participate in unit self-scheduling, maintain compliance with facility policies, and support quality improvement initiatives
