- Location: Fort Defiance, AZ 86504 (Navajo Nation)
- Role: Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse / Travel RN
- Setting: 20-bed Medical Surgical Unit (Adults & Pediatrics)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract (travel nursing job)
- Duration: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour Night Shifts (must be flexible for days, weekends, and holidays)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed (alternating weeks of 36 and 48 hours, plus up to 1 on-call shift/week)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,130 - $2,250/week
- Staffing Ratios: Non-COVID: typically 4:1, max 5:1; COVID: typically 2:1, max 3:1
- Orientation: Mondays only
- Number of Openings: 2 Travel RN positions
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (valid for practice in Arizona or compact status as applicable)
- American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
- At least 1 year of pediatric nursing experience; comfortable caring for both adult and pediatric patients
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation (EMR) skills
- Ability to float to other departments and perform task-oriented duties
- Willingness to attend staff meetings, mandatory orientation, and ongoing training
- Flexible schedule: able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, patient-centered nursing care to adult and pediatric patients on the Med/Surg unit
- Perform clinical assessments, implement nursing plans, and document care in the EMR
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per facility policies
- Support inpatient care and assist with flu immunization clinics as needed
- Float to other departments and assist with unit tasks (answering call lights, phones, patient transport, etc.)
- Maintain excellent staffing ratios to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
- Participate in staff meetings, competency training, and quality improvement initiatives
- Adhere to facility policies, infection control, and patient privacy standards
