• Assignment Duration: 16 weeks (with potential to extend up to 32 weeks)

• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day/Night); every weekend required

Registered Nurse Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in Cardiac Stepdown, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or Intermediate Care
• Recent Level 1 trauma experience within the last year required
• Cardiothoracic and vascular experience required; post-op Day 1 hearts (open and closed) experience required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years (non-negotiable)
• Certifications required prior to start: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); PCCN preferred
• Willingness to float to related units as needed (telemetry, CVICU stepdown, surgical PCU)
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (limited public transportation access)
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a Cardiac Stepdown / Progressive Care (PCU) telemetry setting
• Monitor and manage telemetry patients, post-op cardiac cases, and complex cardiac surgical/vascular patients
• Provide post-op Day 1 cardiac care for open and closed procedures and support cardiothoracic surgery teams
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation, medication administration, and interdisciplinary care coordination
• Collaborate with cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, anesthesia, and ancillary services for optimal patient outcomes
• Float to similar units as required to support staffing needs and maintain continuity of care
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing professional development to maintain clinical competencies
• Adhere to facility protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements
