- Shift: 40 hours per week: 2 8-hour shifts and 2 12-hour shifts (06:30 AM – 07:00 PM), no on-call or weekend requirement

- Setting: Operating Room / Surgical Services (perioperative nursing)
- Schedule Notes: No on-call or weekend requirement
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with OR specialty experience. Connecticut RN license or compact license preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) RN experience (perioperative nursing)
- Completion of onboarding requirements: health screenings, competency testing, background check, and required immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap) and TB screening
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills; familiarity with infection control and surgical safety protocols
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide skilled perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient management
- Serve as a scrub or circulating nurse as needed to support surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff
- Monitor patient status throughout procedures and respond promptly to changes
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and uphold patient confidentiality
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and surgical safety checklists
- Participate in specialty-specific competency testing, continuing education, and skills assessments
