- Location: Rochester, NY (14642) — Level 1 trauma center; Rochester healthcare / Upstate New York
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 8, 2026)
- Employment Type: Travel Radiology Technologist, On-Site
- Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday — 12-hour day shifts (36 hours/week); Weekend X-Ray Tech
- On Call: 2-3 call shifts per month; must be able to report within 30 minutes
- Unit: General X-Ray Tech – Weekends; experience in trauma radiology preferred
Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1930-$2080/week (based on 36 hours/week)
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- ARRT certification required (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- New York State Radiologic Technologist license (NYS license) or ability to obtain prior to start
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum 2 years of clinical X-ray Technologist experience; recent Level 1 trauma center OR experience preferred
- Recent experience using c-arm or o-arm within the past 8 months
- Ability to move or lift patients and stand for extended periods; strong patient-handling skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
- Patient-focused, compassionate, adaptable team player in fast-paced trauma/imaging environments
Key Responsibilities (Radiology Technologist / X-Ray Tech)
- Verify patient identity and review physicians’ orders before initiating radiographic procedures
- Operate X-ray equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images of bones, tissues, and organs as ordered
- Position patients safely and accurately, including assisting and lifting patients with limited mobility
- Explain procedures to patients and address questions with clear, compassionate communication
- Use c-arm/o-arm and general radiography equipment safely to maintain low radiation dose and image quality
- Observe and document patient condition and age-specific needs during imaging procedures
- Ensure images are routed correctly to PACS and maintain accurate patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly and participate in routine equipment safety checks
- Provide on-call, callback, and holiday coverage as required for trauma and emergency imaging
