Med Surg/Tele RN (MS2) - Show Low, Arizona

Job Overview

• Position: MedSurg/Tele travel nurse
• Location: Regional hospital in the White Mountains of Arizona
• Setting: 24-bed MedSurg unit with Telemetry capability on all beds
• Patient Population: Adults and Pediatrics (travelers only care for adults; pediatrics assigned to permanent staff)
• Float: To all Med Surg units and ICU (handling Med Surg overflow patients)
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:

  • Day shift: 1:5
  • Night shift: 1:6
  • Pediatrics: 1:4 (based on acuity)
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts
• Guarantee: 36 hours with up to 3 cancellations

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience
• Certifications:

  • Required: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
  • Preferred: PALS
• Skills: Strong neuro and cardiac skills required

Work Environment & Support

• EMR System: Sunrise Allscripts
• Support Staff: Telemetry techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs
• Nurse Managers: Do rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Hospitalist: In-house 24/7
• Respiratory Therapist: Available 24/7
• Pharmacy: Available 24/7
• IV Team: None
